Questions people ask before they start

What can I upload?

Upload a video file (MP4, MOV, M4V, WEBM, MKV) or paste a YouTube or other public video link. On the Free plan a video can be up to 15 minutes long; paid plans go from 1 to 3 hours.

Do I need to record a voiceover?

No. Upload a screen recording with no sound at all. HeyMotion writes what to say and speaks it with a natural AI voice. You can change any sentence afterwards.

How long does it take?

It depends on how long your video is. You don’t have to wait on the page: close the tab, and for clips and tutorials we email you as soon as they’re ready (you can switch this off in settings).

How many clips do I get?

You choose: 3, 5 or 7 clips per video. Each one comes with a score for its hook, pacing, value and shareability, so you know which to post first.

What if something goes wrong?

If a job fails or you cancel it, the minutes it was holding go straight back to your balance.

Is there a watermark on the Free plan?

Yes, Free exports in Full HD with a small “heymotion.ai” text in the corner. Every paid plan removes it.

What counts as a minute?

Clips, dubbing and audio cleanup use 1 minute per minute of video you upload. A voiced tutorial uses 4 minutes per minute of finished tutorial. Re-cutting a video you already uploaded costs a quarter. Written guides, editor timelines and caption edits are free. Minutes renew every month and don’t carry over. We email you when you’ve used 80% and again at 100%, so you’re never caught off guard.

Can I cancel any time?

Yes. Cancel from the billing settings in your account—no emails, no calls. Your account then goes back to the Free plan.

Where is my video processed?

Your files and our database are stored in the EU, on Google Cloud in Belgium. The AI analysis uses Google’s paid Gemini service, which does not use your videos to train its models; we delete the copy we send right after use. Every provider and where it works is listed in our privacy policy.
